It Felt Like The Grandmaster Is Back"- Robin Uthappa Happy With Yuzvendra Chahal's Current Form
Yuzvendra Chahal received accolades from former India cricketer Robin Uthappa for his performance in the last T20I against Australia after failing to have a meaningful influence in the first two games.
He said that Chahal had informed him after the game against Australia that the damp circumstances were making life tough for him. The former right-handed batter for India believes that the leggie’s effective bowling in the series finale earned him some redemption.

The 36-year-old also believes that the Indian team management stuck with Chahal throughout the series against Australia because they wanted him to reclaim his lost confidence.
Speaking to Parimatch India, Robin Uthappa said:
“Yuzvendra Chahal had told me that he found it difficult to grip the ball during the Australia T20Is because of the excessive dew. The minute he bowled in dry conditions when Rohit won the toss, it was completely different. It felt like the grandmaster is back.”
He added:
“It’s pleasing to see him bowl with so much control. I knew Ravichandran Ashwin wouldn’t get a chance against Australia because India wanted to get Chahal back to form and they were able to do that.”
In particular, Chahal showed himself to be costly in India’s recent three-match home T20I series against Australia.
He recovered, though, in the decisive match, allowing just 22 runs from his allotted four overs while also taking a vital wicket.
Axar Patel Is Owning His Position: Robin Uthappa
Robin Uthappa noted that left-arm spinner Axar Patel had benefited greatly from playing frequent games. He also emphasised that the bowler is now making the most of his opportunities after not having many in the past.
“It seems as if Axar Patel is owning his position. Earlier he didn’t get consistent opportunities, having just one-odd game here and there. Now it feels like the confidence is there and he has thrived because of it.”
Patel was the player with the most wickets in the series against Australia. In Ravindra Jadeja’s absence, he is anticipated to play a significant part for the Men in Blue in the crucial T20 World Cup 2022.
Suryakumar Yadav Is A Special Talent: Robin Uthappa
Suryakumar Yadav, a player for Team India, received praise from Uthappa for his outstanding recent batting displays. He said that a key factor in the player’s success has been his ability to score runs in different parts of the field.
Robin Uthappa said that the 32-year-old has perfected the knack of striking the ball in the gaps and adjusting his game to the field conditions.
“Suryakumar Yadav is a special talent. He is in the form of his life at the moment. He’s a player who plays according to the field and doesn’t try to score runs in just one area. The whole ground is available for him and he targets the fielder that’s inside the circle. He is always hitting the ball in the gaps.”
This year, Yadav has displayed outstanding form in white-ball cricket. Notably, he is the only Indian hitter to be in the top 10 and is now ranked second in the ICC T20I batter rankings.
