Andreev had just overcome Moutet in three sets before bizarre scenes occurred at the net as both players went to shake hands. In a video circulated online, it initially seemed that both were going to shake hands following a tense battle. However, Moutet appeared to go for a hard handshake which seemingly angered Andreev. The pair held on to each other's hands for a while and exchanged words. Moutet then seemed to push his shoulder into Andreev, who responded by shouting at the Frenchman. A war of words continued as the pair walked to the side of the court before Andreev shoved Moutet. The latter then fought back by pushing his hand back at Andreev. They exchanged several pushes and the umpire was forced to intervene. The umpire could be seen trying to get between both players and gently pushing them away from each other.
